Náměstí Míru is a pleasant square dominated by the Church of St. Ludmila. Its name means “Peace Square” but no one uses that term. Instead, many Czech and foreign residents refer to the town square by its shortened name Mírák.
The large, nicely landscaped central area in front of the church has many benches for the most part of the year, where locals like to sit and chat, read or watch their kids or dogs play. This is also where the Christmas and Easter markets take place and where occasional events and live band performances are held.
The beautiful Vinohrady Theatre and the National House of Vinohrady are also located on Náměstí Míru.
Getting there: Metro A or tram 4, 10, 13, 16, 22 to Náměstí Míru.
