This region is home to the city of Olomouc, which has the most valuable historical sights besides Prague. With a bit of luck you can hear the biggest organ in Central Europe play in St. Maurice Church. The St. Wenceslas Cathedral and the old university area are definitely worth seeing, too. The area around Rožnov pod Radhoštěm is very enjoyable to spend time in. Besides hiking in the Beskydy Mountains, you can visit the Wallachian Open Air Museum where you can spend all day wandering and learning about how local people lived in the past. If you like mountains, visit the peaceful Jeseníky Mountains, still relatively untouched by tourism. You can ski in winter, hike in summer, and spend relaxing time in the numerous pensions and mountain chalets.
